Earth and Water: Life’s source

Earth and water are the world breadbasket. Africa has a card to play thanks to agriculture. Rich, the continent has arable lands south of Sahara (65% of the world’s available reserves), water and sun.
Water and earth are everyone’s business. Eating and drinking are everyone’s primary needs.
Water and Earth are Life.

Agriculture: breadbasket of the world

PSF is convinced of the potential of the agricultural sector, a driver to employment (60% of Sub-Saharan jobs)
Sustainable and inclusive growth vector, the agricultural sector is the foundation of an essential system to ensure a nutritious, healthy and accessible diet for all.
Despite notable progress, 1 in 4 people suffer from malnutrition. By 2050, with 1,5 billion additional inhabitants the situation will get worse.
Supporting agricultural project and enabling people to live serenely and with dignity in their work, these are the commitment of PSF.

Energy: Vector of economic and social development

In 2017, 645 million africans lived without electricity. 63% of the Sub-Saharan population reside in rural areas.
With an average electrification of 32% in rural access and 72% in urban areas, disparities remain very important. A complete electrification of Africa would lead to an increase in annual growth of 10 to 15% over a period of 15 years.
The continent has immense wealth in renewable energies still unexploited and solar irradiation 2 times higher than in Europe.
PSF supports the development of innovative renewable energies in rural areas.
The association works to help improve the living conditions of the poorest populations by allowing them a sustainable and reliable access to an energy source.

entrepreneurship is a springboard for economic growth on the continent, a sustainable tool for job creation and a seductive device for the new generation.
according to the 2017 report, “women’s entrepreneurship”, Africa has become the first continent of women’s entrepreneurship. 27% of women create a company in Africa, which is the highest rate in the world.
